As 2004 draws to a close, we hope all of our friends and family find themselves healthy, surrounded by others, and enjoying the holidays. And for sure, we hope your Christmas is going much better than the Griswold's in Christmas Vacation! Ann and I have had another action packed year (too much at times!) As usual, we were too late getting cards and stamps, so here is our fourth annual Electronic Christmas Card. Click on any small picture to go see more pictures from our exciting 2004 year. The Beard/Wright family Christmas Gathering was snowed out in December 2003. So we had one in February and another on December 19, 2004. Here are a few pictures from those two reunions. (And Harry thinks it is great that Sue and Ann do this and I'm proud to be an honorary member! After all, I'm Sue's favorite Brother-in-law!)

Lets tell the truth here. The Colman side of the family hasn't done quite as good a job of staying in touch as Ann & Sue's family. I have first cousins I haven't seen in over 40 years for example. That's why it was especially nice to be invited to a wedding in Clemson S.C. for my 2nd cousin Chris Bywater.

Ann and I didn't do nearly as much motorcycle or bicycle riding in 2004 as we intend to do next year, but we did make it to our first National Hog Rally. Here are a few shots from that. (Sorry, we didn't carry the camera to the great Travis Tritt Concert!) Click on a picture to see the most amazing motorcycle riders we've ever seen! Ann's bicycling was cut short due to hip surgery in June, and Harry got lazy after the vacation below. But we're still proud members of the MILEPOST ZERO BIKE CLUB. On Labor Day Sunday we hosted the 16th annual Tour de Valley Century.

For 2 wonderful weeks in July, Ann and I vacationed out west. 4 days in Las Vegas, 2 nights & 3 days on a houseboat on Lake Powell, then a wonderful week in a timeshare in St. George, Utah.

Last year Ann and I gained the distinguished title of Mother-in-law and Father-in-law. Our son Matt married the lovely Sarah Wright (says he learned from dad and started out marrying HIS Miss WRIGHT!) Her first visit to Waynesboro was a very special surprise for Matt as well as a delight for us in-laws.

Harry still sings in the Waynesboro Choral Society and sang in a spring concert and a Christmas Concert. Ann promises she will join him again this coming year! Right Ann?

What would Harry do at home or at work if it wasn't for PROJECTS? And anyone that comes over HAS to look at them, right? Here are some from 2004 which wasn't a big year on projects at home or work.

Our Pets! As usual, Ann and I have had another year enriched by the love of our pets but also saddened by the loss of another 4-legged family member. Click on a picture to meet our new boy Cotton and see the full menagerie.

A little over 2 years ago, Harry somewhat reluctantly agreed to serve on the Waynesboro Planning Commission. WHOA, who would have dreamed how much time it can consume or that Harry would become chairman, and the villain for the Staunton NewsLeader as well as many Waynesboro Citizens. Don't think it's easy and all the answers are clearcut!

Our Church home remains Finley Memorial Presbyterian Church in Stuarts Draft. Ann went there as a child. Her parents went there. We were married there. Oh yeah, and that wooden bell tower was another Harry project/design, done years ago with the help of Ann's dad Homer, plus a lot of men from the church!

Creating this card has helped remind me that life is NOT all work and no play, even though it felt like it at times. Click either left or right to learn a little about the jobs that let us pursue all the other interests in our life.
